The Ultimate Guide to Choosing an E-liquid Manufacturer

What you need to know

All great businesses start with a simple idea, and e-liquid brands are no exception.

Maybe you’ve already got a great concept and fresh flavour combinations in mind. Maybe you know you can create something the industry is missing, but you’re new to the game and lacking some business know-how.

It’s important to work out what stage you’re at in terms of product development and recognise your limitations. You could be the best salesperson in the world, but if you can’t reliably manufacture your e-liquid, you’ll get nowhere.

Here’s everything you need to consider when developing your brand and choosing your e-liquid manufacturer:

Building your concept

Spotting gaps in the vaping industry or providing solutions to problems commonly faced by customers is a great way to get noticed and kickstart your e-liquid brand.

Creating and manufacturing e-liquids isn’t as simple as you might think - there’s a lot more to it than just flavours and sales! You need to think about who’s going to buy your products and what will help your brand stand out from the crowd.

Are you looking to create a budget range of 10ml nicotine salts to help ex-smokers quit for good? Or, are you going down the premium route with quirky new flavour ideas for the hobbyist shortfill market?

Working with a good manufacturer will take the stress out of making these big decisions, especially if you’re new to the industry.

Here at Juice Sauz, our team can support you in this early phase of development thanks to our wealth of knowledge, experience and state of the art e-liquid manufacturing equipment.

Whether you need help naming your range, choosing e-liquid bottle sizes or finalising flavour selection, we’re here to share advice on vaping trends and guide you through the whole process.

Now you’ve got your concept, it’s time to decide whether you’d like to use a White Labelling or original equipment manufacturing (OEM) service.

At Juice Sauz we offer both White Labelling and OEM e-liquid manufacturing services, but you need to understand the key differences between them before you decide which is the best option for you and your brand.

So let’s get into it.

OEM E-liquid Manufacturing Vs. White Labelling - What are the main differences?

OEM (original equipment manufacturing) is a service provided by outside companies that helps businesses grow from the ground up. From flavour development to TPD testing and paperwork submission, OEM providers take care of it all.

Using an OEM service is a great way to cut your costs, as it means new companies wanting to create original products don’t need to invest in building their own manufacturing facilities or worry about the logistics of in-house production.

Here at Juice Sauz, the OEM service we provide goes much further than just production and filling. Whether you’d like help choosing flavour profiles or need us to create a completely bespoke social media package, we’ll be there every step of the way.

And don’t worry, you won’t lose control over the project - you take the lead and decide exactly what you need us to do.

Whilst many clients approach us with just an idea and an end goal, some already have flavour concentrates and designs prepared, so they just need us to mix, package and ship their e-liquids.

If you are starting from scratch, our talented design team works with you to create your branding whilst your new e-liquids are being mixed.

We provide everything from labels and counter display units (CDUs) to online banners and posters - whatever your vision, we’ll make it a reality.

Once you’re ready to launch, our innovative marketing team will promote your product across social media, working closely with the sales team to get your new range of e-liquids into as many online and high-street stores as possible.

In comparison, e-liquid White Labelling is a quick and budget-friendly route to market for those who aren’t interested in creating their own range of brand new flavours.

White Labelling manufacturers take an existing off-the-shelf product and rebrand it to be sold by another company.

For example, supermarkets take White Label products and sell stock under their own brand, like cereal, at a discounted cost compared to other big brands.

E-liquid White Label manufacturing saves the client a lot of time and money, as it doesn’t require any flavour development because the product already exists - you’re just putting your own labels on it.

This also means that you don’t need to worry about TPD compliance and testing, as the recipe has already been approved when it was sold under a different brand. All you have to do is pay a small fee to register the product with TPD under your brand name, and you’re ready to go!

At Juice Sauz, we’ve built a large catalogue of products and flavours suitable for White Labelling, offering a reliable and professional service that gets your brand on the shelves quickly at an affordable rate.

Like our OEM service, we can take care of all your label and branding design, as well as any sales and marketing support you might need, giving you the flexibility to choose which elements you’d like us to take care of.

If you still can’t decide whether e-liquid OEM or White Labelling is right for you, just drop us a line and talk us through your enquiry so we can discuss your options in more detail.

Creating your e-liquid recipes

If you’ve opted for OEM manufacturing, it’s time to start creating your own e-liquid recipes!

To start with, you need to think about your raw ingredients. Using poor quality ingredients won't only ruin your vape juice but might also stop it from meeting the legal requirements necessary for entering the UK market.

To save you a lot of time and stress, we source the raw materials ourselves using our knowledge and experience to make sure they meet the highest safety and quality standards. All you need to worry about is how daring you’re going to be with your flavour combinations!

The vaping industry has exploded over the last decade, making it easier than ever to turn your favourite classic sweets into e-liquids flavours or invent a completely new and unique taste sensation. Whatever flavour profile you’re going for, we’ve got the facilities and know-how to help you achieve it.

After blending your new flavours to your exact specifications, we run some initial internal tests before shipping some samples out to you. We then make any necessary revisions based on your feedback, and it’s finally ready for testing and registration!

Once your finished product is ready to hit the shelves, we’re able to efficiently handle large scale packaging and distribution across the UK and Internationally to reputable e-liquid suppliers or directly to customers.

Our work with Lit Liquids

One brand that we’re especially proud to have worked with recently is Lit Liquids. The client requested our full OEM services to help build his brand from scratch after coming to us with the idea of creating an e-liquid range centred around the rave scene.

After discussing his idea, the client decided to create a range of 100ml shortfills with a 70VG/30PG composition, packaged in black bottles.

We worked closely with the client to develop his new flavours, sending out regular samples and menu cards until he’d selected five final blends.

Meanwhile, our design team worked on the brand’s labels, packaging, CDUs and social media posts ready for client approval ahead of launch day.

The final product is the ‘Rush’ collection, Inspired by classic shots and summer cocktails. One of the most popular flavours is Apple Sourz, an infusion of sweet, tangy red and green apples with a subtle hint of aniseed.

So that's it, everything you need to know about creating your own vape juice brand and how to find the best e-liquid manufacturer.

If there's anything else you'd like to know or if you still have any questions about the e-liquid manufacturing process, we're always happy to help. We can't wait to hear about your ideas and get the ball rolling!
